Sabre

Sabre Paris began in the early 1990s when Francis and Pascale Gelb set out to rethink something most people never question: the cutlery on the table. Francis grew up in a family of Parisian goldsmiths, surrounded by the traditions of fine tableware, but the couple imagined something more relaxed. Instead of formal silver sets reserved for special occasions, they wanted pieces that could bring color and personality into everyday meals.

Their solution was simple but distinctive. Sabre pairs stainless-steel blades with acrylic handles in a wide range of colors and patterns, encouraging people to mix rather than match. The pieces are still assembled by hand in workshops near Paris, continuing a tradition of craftsmanship while deliberately breaking away from the stiffness of traditional French table settings.

Today, Sabre cutlery appears in many Parisian homes and restaurants, where it blends easily into both casual and carefully considered tables. The design feels quietly Parisian: elegant without ceremony, playful without being loud, and made for meals that unfold slowly over conversation.
