Nine Orchard

Nine Orchard occupies the restored Beaux‑Arts landmark that once housed the 1912 Jarmulowsky Bank in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Its transformation was rooted in archival finesse—recreated clocks, a rooftop tempietto, restored vaulted ceilings, and meticulously milled moldings reclaim the building’s original grandeur. Inside warms an intimate, residential‑inspired hospitality: 113 rooms highlight pine floors, original moldings, and custom BDDW furnishings under natural light from oversized windows. Artworks by local creatives and a curated soundscape by DJs Devon Turnbull and Stretch Armstrong deepen the sense of place.

Dining and social moments unfold with layered sophistication. The Swan Room, once the bank teller hall, is now anchored by pink Tennessee marble floors and Botticino marble walls beneath its grand vaulted ceiling—perfect for evening martinis amid revival‑era drama. By contrast, the Corner Bar is a neighborly bistro with painted motifs and comforting fare by chef Ignacio Mattos—ideal for a casual breakfast or digestif.
