Wythe Hotel

Emerging from Williamsburg’s industrial past, the Wythe Hotel occupies a 1901 cooperage lovingly reimagined by Morris Adjmi Architects and Two Trees Management. Its exterior presents a bold red-brick façade, meticulously restored to reveal historical patina alongside sculptural signage that marks the corner. A striking four-story glass-and-steel penthouse rises above the original structure—its luminous west-facing façade offering framed views of the Manhattan skyline by day and a soft beacon by night. Interior architecture honors the building’s heritage: exposed cast-iron columns, timber joists, and arched windows retain the original factory volume, while new insertions—poured concrete floors, cork details, and reclaimed wood furnishings—blend refinement with raw authenticity.

Day-to-night hospitality defines the Wythe’s ambiance. On the ground floor, Le Crocodile (formerly Reynard) serves earnest, seasonally minded French brasserie fare centered around locally sourced ingredients and wood-fired techniques. Above, Bar Blondeau, the rooftop terrace, balances New York energy with sunset panoramas—craft cocktails, skyline views, and a social buzz that blurs the line between local hangout and hotel amenity. Guest rooms follow through on this ethos: heated concrete floors, flowing natural light, and tactile touches—like Flavor Paper–designed wallpaper inspired by the site’s manufacturing past—create a lived-in feel that is both considered and unconstrained.
