Sugaar
Address
Hidden along Boulevard Saint-Germain, Sugaar beckons with mystery—its bright red neon sign and massive velvet curtains concealing an entrance that tempts you to venture inside.
The menu delves deep into Spain's Basque region, offering everything from Cantabrian anchovies and Asturian sardines to select cuts from Lyon. Crisp white tablecloths, flickering candlelight, and gleaming silverware create an enchanting atmosphere that perfectly melds Parisian elegance with Basque vivacity. We sampled two exquisite appetizers: Crudo de Gamba Roja (red prawn carpaccio with bergamot olive oil and Sichuan pepper) and Bluefin Tuna (seared bluefin tuna with pepper sauce), followed by their signature dish: a perfectly cooked 25-day dry-aged Simmental txuleta premium ribeye.
We visited on Valentine's Day, when elegantly dressed couples filled the restaurant and romance hung thick in the air—highly recommended!
